Latest figures to be published by the Spanish government's central statistics unit show that sales have risen by over 13 per cent in Spain this year. October saw a total of 29,369 registered sales transactions, an increase of 6.5% in comparison to the same month last year. The rise reflects the upward trend recorded after every month in 2016 except January.

Including October's figures, the year-to-date total of registered sales transactions is 340,000, 13.9% higher than during the same period in 2015. Further, the running 12-monthly total is 397,000, the highest since mid-2011 and a clear indication of growing local and international demand in Spanish property.

The latest figures also once again reflect the discrepancies among the 17 Spanish regions. Among the eleven regional increases in October, the most significant are those reported in Asturias (21.3%), Catalunya (19.8%), Aragon (19.2%) and Extremadura (16.2%).
