Malaga port authority announce plans to build mega-yacht marina

Malaga city's Port Authority has announced plans to create a marina equipped for super yachts up to 100 metres in length and 20 metres in height.

The new marina will serve as a connecting hub for private multimillion dollar mega-yachts sailing the route between the Caribbean and the Mediterranean. Up to 40 luxury yachts ranging in length between 30 and 100 metres will shortly be able to moor in the marina, which will be situated in Malaga's famous Muelle Uno, the newly renovated chic waterfront centre.

The beautiful Spanish coastline has long attracted among the plushest yachts in the world, and the new marina will benefit from its close proximity to Malaga's flourishing city centre and international airport.

Malaga has experienced an upsurge in tourism in recent years because of its vastly improving cultural attractions, including Michelin-star restaurants, museums, and designer boutiques. Malaga airport now offers a vast array of international flight connections, including a direct link to and from Doha and also a terminal serving private jets.

Investors are already showing interest in the new marina project and have been given a period of three months to put forward proposals.
